Ice Storm Of December 2013

                On Sunday Decmber 22'nd,2013 a massive ice storm of freezing rain set upon the state of Maine,and likely much of New England. Of course the first time I heard of the term ice storm was in 1998,when my families home lost power along with almost everyone across the state one January night after layers of freezing snow and ice fell upon each other-weighing down tree limbs that knocked out power lines. During that 1998 storm,snow persisted and it was far too dangerous to walk out amid it all. This time there were windows to go outside and photograph this similarly destructive event. Destructive that is to power lines. But it also created unique ice formations over the trees-creating a sort of magical crystal forest around the area. Shot on and a few days before Christmas eve,some of the photos taken after the holiday were shot with the new Sony Cybershot DSC-W730 camera I received for Christmas.
