This second installment of my field pictorial jumps around a bit in terms of timing than my first. Some of these were taken last month,in August. But didn't have a chance to complete the project that month so am including them here with several recent ones that I took just two days ago. Please enjoy these images!

Fitts Pond seems to be the same type of go to natural destination for my family and me that Fields Pond has been in past years. Because it's a fairly vast area? I do tend to notice many different things when I go there. See things I didn't notice before. Today is actually the fifth day of Autumn. Yet even in the shade? It was still the balmy, summerish 80-83 degree weekend weather that is uncommon in Maine this time of year. Enjoy these reflections of color and light in the natural world around me!
A few years ago, my own mother suggested to me that I look into publishing a book on the many different sorts of fields in the state of Maine. At first the idea seemed a bit ordinary. The more I lived with it however? The more it came to mind that when one drives a mere 5-10 miles out of the Bangor/Brewer area? It's mostly rural farmland and...fields.
Since I cannot drive and it was her idea,it was again my mother you took me on the majority of these journey's. Excepting one of them where someone else did the driving. Since most of these areas were somewhere on Union Street in Penobscot County? I am labeling these photos by date and in the general area they were taken. Enjoy this first volume of my photographic take on local wide open spaces!
