June 2007: How I Got My Photographic Groove Back!

                       Eight years ago this year,I was just entering back into the world of pro oriented photography with the acquisition of my Olympus E500 DSLR camera. It was my very first camera of this type. And in a way meant relearning everything I'd understood about photography. Due to the weather creating multiple barriers to any new photographic content? I wanted to explore photographs I took in June 2007-at the beginning of particularly strong photographic learning curve for me.

                     Several of the blog are going to include the introduction of a new interactive element. One recommended to me by my aunt. They will include two photographs of the same subject from a different viewpoint. And I will be asking you,the viewer,to select which one you prefer. An October Rose Is Still A Rose

            October in Maine this year seems to have been a month of climactic contrasts. 
During one 72 hour period,it seems to go from sub freezing nights to sometimes rather hot and humid days. This has even fooled normally summer oriented flowers into having a second life of sorts-even as the traditional growing season is coming to an end. So truth be known: the more seasonally appropriate foliage and other harvest related subject matter will be on the way to this blog soon. But simply couldn't resist the mind oddity of these late in the season dwarf roses. Enjoy!

Bark Of The Oak Tree

          Several days ago,I was at one of my favorite local nature spot Fields Pond on an unusually warm and sunny early October day. While staring at an oak tree down by the pond of the shore,one that I've looked at many times,I noticed how much nature had patterned the bark of this tree much in the manner of a mosaic. Sometimes it's all too easily to take for granted the artfulness of nature as we tend to pass through it with a specific destination in our minds. On this day? I decided to give this fairly common but nonetheless fascinating natural phenomenon a second look.
